Improve Your Smile And Confidence With Cosmetic Dentistry
San Diego Dental Crowns
Make Your Teeth Feel and Look Like Royalty
Dental crowns function as a way to cover or “cap” a tooth that has been broken, damaged, misshapen or discolored, improving the tooth’s overall strength and returning it to its natural look and function. They may even be used with dental implants or a dental bridge to restore a smile that has lost one or more teeth, or to preserve a tooth after a root canal. In some cases where a hairline crack has formed in a previously filled tooth, a dental crown can seal the tooth to preserve its natural appearance and function.
Benefits of Dental Crowns
Besides Having Your Own Crown to Wear All The Time
Dental crowns offer many benefits, including their tooth-colored appearance and natural resistance to stains and cavities. Dental crowns that are made of porcelain feature high durability and allow patients to return to their regular chewing, biting and speaking habits. With proper care, dental crowns can last anywhere from 5-15 years or longer. At New Image Dental we are proud to provide the latest in crown technology with CEREC same-day crowns. Drs. Scott and Leslie have been incorporating CEREC technology in their practice for over 13 years! Dr. Scott is currently a highly sought after trainer/lecturer in the utilization of CEREC and 3D Dental technology.
Same Day Crowns – The CEREC Process
One Easy Appointment and You’re Done!
At New Image Dental we always utilize the best materials and methods in modern patient care and are one of the leading teams in the CEREC industry. To prepare a new dental crown, we use a process of intraoral scanning with our Omnicam to show you what your tooth currently looks like. Based on this image, the CEREC system will allow us to virtually design and mill your dental crown. The dental crown will then be custom designed for its ideal shape and color, to fit seamlessly within your existing bite. Rather than waiting on a lab to create your crown, the fabrication of your uniquely customized dental crown only takes between 20 to 30 minutes in-office! And instead of waiting weeks or days for a second appointment and having to be numbed again, we can cement your finished crown in the same day of treatment.
Dental Crowns in The Community
As pioneers in the community Dr. Leslie and Dr. Scott Strommer co-founded an organization to inspire CEREC dentists to utilize technology to improve access to dental care within their community through service and contribution. They have founded Dentistry for Humanity and their project “Crown our Community” has raised over $65,000. They partner with the sdCEREC Study Club and it’s members to raise money for the dental clinic in Veteran’s Village San Diego.
Dr. Leslie and Dr. Scott Strommer have been practicing dentistry since they received their Doctor of Dental Surgery from UCLA in 1991. A strong tie and love for San Diego made them decide to start their family dentistry here. These San Diego dentists and their team do their best to provide the best care to their patients so they have a lifetime of dental health with minimal treatments. If you have any further questions or would like to schedule your appointment in Mission Valley contact us at (619) 280-9100.

At New Image Dental we turn around the traditional lengthy process of waiting on dental labs by milling your dental crown in-office using advanced CEREC technology, saving you time and keeping your custom dental restorations in the caring hands of our staff. We are also proud to be specially trained and certified in using and teaching CEREC technology across the nation!
Dental Implants And You
If you have lost one or more teeth from age, decay or a dental injury, dental implants are considered a highly accurate form of tooth replacement that secures a dental crown (or replacement tooth) permanently into the mouth. Once they are placed dental implants help preserve the bone density in your jaw after tooth loss and even out the pressure placed on remaining teeth. Because they look and feel natural and don’t require removal for cleaning, they are a popular form of restorative dentistry for patients who might forget they’re not regular teeth!
Soft Tissue Laser Therapy?
Your Gums Look Pretty In Pink
Nearly half of all Americans suffer from gum disease which is the number one cause of tooth loss. Soft tissue laser therapy targets areas where gum disease forms and sanitizes the affected areas, reducing the risks of developing gum disease again in the future. Our soft laser therapy treatment also uses gingival contouring to remove excess tissue or to prepare the mouth and gums for veneer placement. Our soft tissue laser therapy is just one of the ways we improve patient health and satisfaction at New Image Dental in Mission Valley.
